A LITTLE INTRODUCTION

Welcome to our new branding and new website!  I am so excited as this is over 5 years overdue.  I haven't stopped working, in quite just the opposite.  I've been busy building a business as a single mom, getting married, having a new baby boy and all along hustling to build new relationships while capturing priceless memories for families.

HI THERE, I’M LAURA CHILES

I'm the founder of LC Photographers, formerly Laura Chiles Photographer.  Yes I added an "s" as this next year we are bringing on more photographers to join our already growing staff to better serve the West Houston, Katy and surrounding communities.  We are currently serving the needs of family photography, high school senior photography, sports and event photography, print on site events and National Charity League (NCL).

how my journey began!

My background is in photojournalismI started my career as a photographer when I was 12 and published in the local diosecean newspaper.  A humble beginning but I grew up in a newsroom along side my dad and made quite a pest of myself early on with the photographers at the paper as I watched them develop film and put the paper together.  I was HOOKED!  Telling stories with my eyes quickly became my passion and still is.  I've worked at so many newspapers since then including the Gazette Newspapers in suburban Maryland, a Washington Post Company paper, and then moving across the country to the Palm Springs Desert Sun and landing in Houston while working for the Chronicle, Press, Galveston Daily News, Conroe paper and later helping start the Katy Courier, a start up daily newspaper.

Katy became home after that.  I found a community that became my family and where later I started my family.  I have 3 amazing little men that I've been blessed to lead through this life and share adventures with.  Plus they have made great little models over the years.  I thought I was done, but God had other plans and we had Luke about 1.5 years ago.  He's been a blessing but has shifted our gears a bit.

Anyways, I'm excited to be back in the digital world and having a more active presence her again.  Look forward to hearing more from me as I work hard "Focusing on the Moments that Matter."
